Empowering Community, One Shot at a Time
At Pomperaug Basketball Community, we believe that the power of sports can transcend the court and make a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by cancer. Our mission is to unite our community through the shared passion of basketball, while advocating for and supporting individuals and families battling cancer through action and altruism.
The PBC 8th grade boys’ and girls’ travel basketball teams will kick off their 2024-2025 season with a Sideline Cancer Jamboree on Saturday, November 23, 2024 starting at 9:00am at the Pomperaug High School.
Proceeds from the event will be used to support local families that are currently affected by cancer by means of gas and grocery gift cards, Uber gift cards, appreciation gifts for the medical staff and more.
How can YOU help?
Purchase a Sideline Cancer shirt or hoodie and wear it to the event! SPREAD THE WORD. Let’s show our solidarity in supporting the fight against cancer as well as support those near us that have been affected. We can’t wait to see everyone in attendance wearing their shirts on November 23rd!
The day of the event there will also be raffle items and snacks for sale with all proceeds going back to our cause. Together we can “SIDELINE CANCER!” Visit this website for more information and details.
The event is free and walk-in spectators are welcome. If you plan on attending, you can register here. Donations to the cause are greatly appreciated.
In the Fall of 2023 Pomperaug Basketball Community formed a strategic alliance with Middlebury Parks and Rec. Middlebury Parks and Rec stepped up and offered their support in order to ensure our basketball programs would continue to be offered to our athletes in Middlebury and Southbury. Their partnership allows athletes in both towns an equal opportunity to play, gym usage in both towns, and keeps our community connected through Basketball. Thank you Middlebury Parks and Rec!
